The answer is:
Long lasting, energy efficient LED Plant Growth Lighting designed exclusively for Plant Growth.
To grow plants indoors or to add supplemental lighting to greenhouses you will need a lot of light. Agriculture in controlled climates such as greenhouses are very efficient ways of growing large amounts of crops without battling bad weather, insect infestations, frost and host of other issues related to agriculture. The controlling of nutrients, micronutrients, pests, water quality, PH, moisture levels and other factors can deliver food products on time to market in the best possible condition.
All of this is not possible without the proper lighting in the indoor area. Existing legacy lighting systems utilize high wattage HID systems which produce heat and have short lifespans compared to LED. The old systems are not near as energy efficient as our LED Grow Lights.
By installing our LED Plant Growth lighting system an average greenhouse operator can save 30 to 50% in electrical and cooling costs. The current legacy lighting system is a profitable model but now with but with an investment in LED lighting to replace your old lighting the bottom line of these operators can grow significantly. Lower maintenance and replacement costs need to be also factored into the cost saving equation.
The Reason that LED's are so efficient beyond the high ratio of electrical to light conversion is that we design the LED fixtures to produce three distinct bandwidths of light that are needed by all plants to grow and flower. The light that is produced is almost pink-purple because of the use of Red, Blue and Orange LED's. These lights do not produce high amounts of Ultraviolet or Infrared and the heat that current legacy lighting does.
The LED fixtures are not only efficient to operate but produce the exact bandwidths that the plants need. Its simple science based on years of NASA study on plant growth for space missions that was able to be reproduced by our LED Grow Lighting Systems.
Case Study (under way):
Our Water Resistant LED Grow Light Tubes were used to replace (40) 400 Watt HPS lights in a greenhouse as supplemental lighting.
We were able to replace 16000 watt of HPS with 9500 Watts of LED Grow Light Spectrum utilizing our LED Tube Lights.
Phase 1 showed equal crop production for potted and flowering flat products.
Phase 2 testing is being done now. The return on investment at current electrical rates is at 1.8 years with a usable lifespan in this environment of 6 years (may be much more). The electrical savings goes directly to the bottom line of the greenhouse for the remaining 4.2 years or more.
